With all that is happening in the world at the moment, it’s natural to reassess what you’re doing, where you’re going and if things you would normally do are currently safe. It will be a tough time for small businesses around the globe.  Many businesses will need to adapt and change, perhaps taking different approaches and ones that they aren’t as comfortable with so as to continue to help as many people as they can.

Although it’s an uncertain time for all, the Thrive Physio Plus model of Physiotherapy has always been built on outcome driven treatments with an emphasis on exercise and long term solutions. For those of you who are regulars in our clinic, you’d know a treatment session often looks like a 1:1 training session, with a significantly reduced emphasis on ‘hands-on’ treatment and an emphasis on treatments that are self-directed (us, instructing you!).

What does this mean?

This means essentially, our approach won’t change at all – there’ll be no reinventing the way we do things in our effort to help as many people as possible. This, coupled with our continued emphasis on the way we communicate with our clients, our team members known for care, empathy and active listening, and we feel confident we can continue to get great outcomes for our valued clients.

That doesn’t mean we haven’t taken every precaution possible to keep our client base safe (you can read more about that here in addition to our team completing to the AusGov Department of Health infection control training), but simply that we have extensive knowledge and an approach renowned for great results that’s built on working from a distance and not relying on human contact to help. We see this as a huge point of difference to other health businesses amidst what’s transpiring currently.

What will COVID-19 mean for aches and pains?

With more people working at home from ever before, less global movement, poor ergonomic set-ups and higher levels of anxiety and stress, we expect musculoskeletal aches and pains to be as prominent as ever. Restricting your social outings doesn’t mean you need to put up with aches, pains and movement limitations and not seek help.

What can I do to seek help?

If you’re comfortable coming in the clinic, we can keep our distance whilst explaining and instructing just as we usually would.  If despite the stringent measures we’ve put in place to provide treatments in the clinic still leave you feeling uneasy, we’re continuing to offer telehealth consults (physio from the comfort of your home via online measures – see here), as well as home visits (for people who are comfortable doing this), with other non-contact measures in the works to ensure we can continue to get great outcomes for everyone at this uncertain time.

Want more information?

Anxious about ‘non-contact’ Physio or skeptical about what it can do for you? Call us to chat! You can rest-easy knowing that our approach, centred around exercise as well as showing you muscle release techniques that you can do yourself, in your own home, is the most research based and effective method of managing bodily aches and pains there is.

There’s also research that suggests online Physiotherapy consults are extremely effective. We’ve helped thousands of people since we’ve opened using this approach, and will continue to help thousands more over the remainder of 2020 and beyond.

We’re still here to help and will continue to get great results, whether in clinic, through online consultations or even in your own home, because our approach to treatment doesn’t need change and it’s the most effective approach there is.
